Tips and techniques will be given on shadows, night time glow, still life lighting, choosing your tonal range and much more. We will also be discussing and, in some sessions, using the painting styles  of greats such as Van Gogh, Edward Hopper and Atkinson Grimshaw.

Tuition will be given through demonstration and on an individual basis. Suitable for beginners to intermediate/advanced.

Your Tutor

Originally from Cheshire, I attained an art foundation with distinction at Manchester before moving to Brighton where I completed an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I am lucky enough to live by the sea in Newhaven, East Sussex with two adored cats as part of my family but am also based in Altrincham. Cheshire. I can often be found painting plein air in the summer with a borrowed doggy companion.

My paintings are an exploration of rich colour, mood and light with a special interest in reflections. I enjoy painting any kind of subject matter such as still life, seascape, landscape  although my particular favourite is people and pet portraiture.
