Johann Sebastian Bach is generally acknowledged to be one of the most important composers of the later (‘High’) baroque period in music history and indeed, one of the greatest composers of all time. This ten week course will survey his output in all musical genres and attempt to place his music in a social and cultural context. No specialist knowledge required – just an interest in listening to music and finding out more about it. |
